(Poor Supergirl - they never know what to do with her.)The two Future's End tie-in issues have no connection to the Doomed storyline (and are barely related to Future's End).3 stars because although most of the individual issues are okay (# 11 wasn't that great), you're not getting anything resembling a coherent story here.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. ATTN!!! DC ANIMATORS: ADAPT THIS STORY ARCH INTO FILM!!! NOW!!! By JQ16 2 for 2! This title is just as great as the first! No spoilers here, just know that these characters have a story outside of the JL. For a Great companion to the JL the story makes sense, and the events that take place are epic enough to keep the fire lit under these Titans. thankfully, the writing in this title was on time! This series is a fun read. How comics should be, no excuses. The characters were great, the use of situation of characters was great! The exploitation of previous under tones were well written. the Art was top Notch! The way it should always be for these heavyweight titles. the pacing was great, and the story itself doesn't lose momentum or end short, or end flat. Common with stories made for characters of this Caliber. This is how I know the characters from the animations and from childhood reading. If you loved the first book then you will also appreciate this one. We have to convince DC to make this into a movie since they seem to do alot of New 52 stories. lol I hope this goes on for a while because it demands an audience for sure. trust Me! Good job DC Comics.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Celebrated indie comic.....Spoiler free review By Chongo At last, a massive tome collecting this ambitious & ground breaking comic in it's entirety. I remember seeing ad's for this in the pages of Mirage Studios' Ninja Turtles comic back in the early 90's but sadly never got around to picking up any of the issues. It's very cool now to have the whole comic series collected into this handsome hardcover book especially since "The Puma Blues" has been out of print for almost 25 years & it's considered to be by many essential reading if you enjoy stuff like From Hell, DC's Vertigo imprint, or Barry Windsor Smith's Storyteller. Extra's include a forty page epilogue from creators Stephen Murphy & Michael Zulli, plus an afterword from Swamp Thing luminary Stephen R. Bissette. The artwork look's incredible & fortunately has been left intact in it's stark & moody black & white. I'd highly recommend picking yourself up a copy ASAP because once they're all gone it seems doubtful this'll be getting another edition in the near future. Fortunately this is now available in digital format through Comixology. Man it's a great time to be a comics fan :)

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Great Collection/Great Comics By A. Grace I gasped when I saw this Book on a store shelf I was so excited! Big fan of Murphy and Zullis separate and very different work with the Ninja Turtles and as another reviewer mentioned I remember seeing ads for this series back in the day. I've picked up a few individual issues out of quarter bins etc in the past few years and have been......very confused. Now that I am able to sit down and read the series in its entirety though I am......still very confused but in a good introspective kind of way. The Artwork is world class and mesmerizing......especially Zulli's wildlife. Murphy's prose can be foggy but I'm pretty sure that is intentional as the entire narrative is basically an existential journey.The collection itself if pretty substantial with only a light (if any) reduction in size from original publication. My only complaint is that the first issue or so is ATROCIOUSLY lettered. I know that is how it was originally published but it was pretty distracting for the first bit.Thank you to Dover for publishing this (and Jim Lawson's PALEO collection). They must have a soft spot for the old TMNT guys.

Pumas, herons, owls, and many more intricately drawn Zulli nature scenes. So happy to finally see a collected version, and with such a beautiful package. An embossed manta on the front cover under the dj! And, new additional work from two of my favorites! Admittedly, I am biased, for I was surprised to see my name in the Acknowledgements. Buy it! Read it! Enjoy it! Get The Blues!

The Brothers of Hastings Ridge Ranch Book 2 By Angie Mike Lily and her young son Charlie are on the run from her abusive husband who has power, wealth and influence. When he tracks them down to a remote ranch, Lily feels she has no choice but to pick up and run again leaving behind the cowboy she hoped to forget. Chance doesn't know about Lily's past and why she ran away and vows to forget them and move on. However, when he receives a call from Charlie in the middle of the night asking for his mother he knows he has to help. After months apart he and Lily are finally reunited, but to get Charlie back they'll have to infiltrate a survivalist group putting both their lives in danger. Just when Lily thinks they're finally safe, she learns differently. Chance has already lost Lily and Charlie once though and can't go through it again. He will do whatever it takes to protect them both and and keep them on his ranch, with him, forever.This is the second book in 'The Brothers of Hastings Ridge Ranch' and while it can be read alone I'd still recommend reading 'Cowboy Incognito' first since that story was great and will provide background for this particular one. Chance and Lily were likable characters though I wish Lily had been stronger and not always ran when the going got tough. Chance was a wonderful hero who was always there for Lily and Charlie and was simply a really good guy. Lily's husband on the other hand was truly despicable and the survivalist group wasn't quite what I expected. At times the plot did seem to digress from the main point which left one mystery after another in its wake and while the romance was sweet, it just didn't tug at my heart like the first book did. Overall I thought it was a quick and enjoyable read though with plenty of suspense and I look forward to the next in this series.

By NANCY HARTIGAN First and foremost, Andrew Kriesberg’s most recent run of Green Arrow reeks of DC trying to hook in fans of the show by making it more like Arrow. Even though Jeff Lemire found a healthy balance between the Green Arrow, we know and inspiration from Arrow the show. He introduced John Diggle, but he was a new take and not a carbon copy of David Ramsey’s character. Komodo was an engaging villain who was clearly based on Malcolm Merlyn, yet was also original enough to be his own character.Here we’re introduced to a character from the show, Felicity Smoak (who is redundant given we already have an IT girl on the team.) She somehow is even more unbelievably overpowered as a hacker in this book, than she is on the show. Which is saying something. She hacks something that she claims should take a week before she finishes that very sentence. The character in general just falls flat. While I enjoyed Felicity at first in the show, she starts and ends terribly here. Not to mention the worst part of her introduction, the disrespectful marginalization of Noami, who was a better Felicity before Felicity even existed (in her current, Arrow incarnation. I’m aware she was Firestorm’s step-mom.)Diggle gets a more proactive role, and while he fares better than Felicity, he comes off as a different character than he did in Lemire’s run. Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor appear but are kinda just there. Arsenal appears which should be a big moment for the two, and while they have an enjoyable yet quick exchange, he too is just kinda there. Katana and Cupid (Kriesberg’s creation from his pre-Arrow days as a comic writer.) are there as well. It’s nice to see Katana again, but she isn’t really given a good excuse to be here. Cupid is just there to remind everyone that she exists I guess. Emiko and Naomi finish off the roll call for Green Arrow’s calvary and we’re given a small hint of Naomi’s training, but like everyone else in the calvary, they’re just kinda there to add names to the issue.Green Arrow’s New 52 book and Arrow the tv show seem to be caught in a strange cycle of inspiration. Komodo was clearly inspired by Malcolm Merlyn. His father role to Emiko, daughter of Robert Queen and half sister of Oliver would later be emulated on the show with Malcolm Merlyn and Thea Queen, the show’s versions of Merlyn and Mia Dearden. But then again, we get John King and Mia Dearden in this book, emulating the show which was emulating the previous book.It was nice to finally see a Winter Soldier-esque altercation with Tommy Merlyn. A seed that I hope grows in the future.The end is a slap to the face of what made the previous books (Namely the Jeff Lemire run, at the risk of sounding like a broken record.) great. Taking inspiration from, not copy and pasting from the show.All in all Kingdom felt rushed, crowded, and dull. It serves as an underwhelming re-introduction of Mia Dearden to the Green Arrow world. It marginalizes recurring Green Arrow allies to make Felicity a big deal and appeal to show watchers. Which kind of defeats the purpose of the “If you don’t like the changes they make on the show, you still have the comics.” argument. Kingdom was a disappointing followup to one of the best comic book runs I’ve read in recent years, the Lemire stuff.

I game to this particular stretch of Green Arrow comics (all the issues contained in this anthology were published as individual comic issues over a 6 month span) as a fan of the Arrow TV show on CW. Andrew Kresiberg and Ben Sokolowski wrote this and both work on Arrow. According to them, you didn't need to know anything about the Green Arrow comics to jump into this and enjoy. They were right. I had no problems jumping in and reading. I loved the concept of Green Arrow bringing their own DC Comic versions of Oliver Queen, John Diggle, and Felicity Smoak together in the comics as it had on the show. I also knew going in that these weren't going to be "the same" version of these characters as on the show. I'm good with all that.I guess for concept and the desire to bring two of the best elements of Arrow -- the "Original Team Arrow" trio and Oliver/Felicity -- to Green Arrow, I give this anthology 5 stars. Totally a brilliant move. I love how they re-imagined Felicity Smoak for this and I wanted to now a lot more about her when they ended the run. These three are content and focus I'd come back for in a heartbeat if DC Comics decided to bring them back.So why the three stars? Because Green Arrow didn't have a heck of a lot of Green Arrow in it. I was looking forward to seeing these three people become a team, see why they'd fit together and work better together than apart. I wanted to see them bond and tackle the mystery and baddie together. Instead, I got a lot of crossover heroes from other comics (Katana, Green Lantern, Bruce Wayne, and even Lex Luther make appearances). Whenever there was action, Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity didn't save the day. Some other hero showed up to do it for them. It felt like I was lured in with the promise of Oliver, Felicity, and Diggle and given everything in the kitchen sink BUT them. By the time this was done, I was frustrated. It probably didn't help that -- at the same time -- Marc Guggenheim was writing the Arrow Season 2.5 tie-in comics (with a very similar storyline about a crazy guy bent on taking over the city and ruling it and just killing it in those pages).But I love Oliver, Diggle, and Felicity so I really loved seeing them get the opportunity to show what they could do in this format. But the story and the focus. But.... ugh! See my dilemma? Such good potential but it was never fully utilized. I really wish DC Comics would give this concept another chance and really let the three characters take form in a story focused on *them.*Anyway, I'd still recommend this collection. It's fun. It's unique. And given that this may be the only time we ever see Oliver, Felicity and Diggle together under the Green Arrow title? Definitely worth the purchase.

Makes only sense after you read the first two books of the serie By lelesurfer It is an interesting story, but it is annoying since this book makes only sense after one read "A Grandmother She Didn't Know" and "Loosing Eugenia", to get the whole picture. Once again I ask myself why the author did not assemble these three into one book considering the fact that they are very short stories.

Fast paced and witty. The characters are fully developed and complex. The writing is clear and concise and it is so easy to read this book! I literally struggled to put it down once I started reading! This is a great romance story. Full of love but still with twists and turns along the way. Highly recommended reading!

It has a very nice romance story, and very entertaining right from the first page. The author, which is Morris Fenris, really made a well written book. He just know how to make the reader like me hooked. I would highly recommend this book to my friends!

 Alluring, kind to the eye, captivating, and highly intelligent Amanda, being a sociopath, needs things, wants things, covets. She desires romance and love. She wants Hobbs. More accurately, she wants Hobbs to want her. But because of her pathology, she is unable to form the very bond she so expertly elicits from her victims. In the wake of her desire, Amanda leaves destruction.

     Hobbs, as most come to know him, is vulnerable and emotionally unfit to handle the punishment of Amanda’s spell. He’d lost his wife, whom he believed to be his one-and-only, in a tragic accident only a year previous. But Amanda’s charm, a dangerous attribute in one so defective, proves to be irresistible, and she soon manipulates her way into his damaged heart.

     Once she’s had her way with Hobbs, and the novelty of their romance has faded, Amanda grows bored. Being a sociopath, she’s constantly searching for the thrill of the next adrenaline kick, and extra-curricular activity is her norm. Hobbs finds this out the hard way. Close to suicide in the dark days following his wife’s death, after Amanda’s betrayal he is again teetering on the edge. Murky, miserable depression grips his soul as he searches for a prescription to end his pain.

     The most unlikely of characters, another victim of Amanda’s pathology, may be Hobbs savior. But before Hobbs can genuinely love and trust again he must find the avenue toward his own self preservation. His completely accidental adventure of self-discovery, though thrilling, is also fraught with danger, suspense and the paranormal.

     For on this pilgrimage Hobbs comes face-to-face with unreality; a ghost from a long lost civilization, the haunting apparition of an ancient Anasazi shaman. Hobbs’ tenuous grip on sanity is indeed slipping. And denial, the most obvious psychological defense mechanism to utilize when long deceased Shamans come knocking upon the door, becomes useless as the evidence of the wise elder’s presence is incontrovertible. But once Hobbs warms to the idea of taking life-lessons from the dead, a great truth is revealed - a revelation that sets Hobbs free.      

     This view into Dissociative Personality Disorder is a case study in the making of an exquisite monster with poignant flashback chapters revealing Amanda’s disturbing childhood. Infused in this psychological study are the accounts of her many victims, driving a plot twisting in irony. Though mostly attributed to males, conservative estimates label one in every five hundred women a sociopath. Amanda is real. She’s out there. And she’ll leave you breathless.

     The Anasazi are also real, or rather, were real until they suddenly and mysteriously disappeared a thousand years ago. Their purported paranormal powers, as the Navaho describe, are legendary. Even today, many Navaho, after traveling through former Anasazi territories, go through cleansing rituals to rid themselves of lingering Anasazi spirits.

     The drama of Amanda’s Spell, a romantic, paranormal adventure, will leave you in suspense until the very last page.

By giovanni thomas Amanda's Spell is an enthralling story that allows the reader to delve into the mind of a sociopath. I love this book because we really get to know the characters and see the story from more than one angle. It is always interesting to be able to peer through the eyes of someone else and really feel what they feel. This story is so gripping, there were times when I would find myself reading until my vision became blurry from not looking away from the screen. Amanda teaches us beauty really is a weapon. This book will forever be on my "must read" list, it will be one those few books that I read again and again, never tiring of the story. I can't wait to read the author's next book!!

Terrific First Novel By Amazon Customer Everyone has friends or acquaintances that are pathological in some respects.They are liars and master manipulators through their pathological tendencies and actions, many times leading to unfortunate circumstances to themselves or more probably to others. This is the case with the main character in this first novel by Scott Larson. His biography reflects his education is in psychology so he is more than aware of these character tendencies and brings them forth in the story,On a more personal level his descriptions of some of my favorite travel experiences in southern Utah and northern Arizona "red rock country" were spot on and along with my photography hobby only increased my interest in the characters and multiple themes within the story. Adding the spirituality of the Anasazi to these locations I have visited broadened my interest. I highly recommend this book and look forward to reading many more of Mr. Larson's novels.
