Buy it if you're a Diehard fan, skip if you haven't seen the anime yet By Luke Having loved every bit of the anime, I was really looking forward to getting my hands on an English version of the manga. I knew nothing about the manga version in particular, nor anything about the artist. While there is nothing wrong with this manga per say, it certainly doesn't do the anime justice. The artwork is very plain in comparison to many others I've read, and the detail doesn't ever match that of what you'd see in the anime. The story is fine, as it doesn't deviate from the story in the anime - that is, if you don't count them cutting out parts of the story in general. I wouldn't say it skips important parts, but it cuts out much of the smaller parts of the story, segments that help world build, develop character or backstory, etc. You see this alot in the anime, but very little in the manga. That and the plot is very rushed in the manga, as you reach some critical parts of the story much earlier than you'd expect, in comparison to how a general manga volume covers about 2 - 3 episodes of an anime. Here, it covers up to 12 episodes. Very rushed.Overall, I still enjoyed getting to see these beloved characters outside of a screen or monitor, but I just wish they were better portrayed than this - it almost feels like an injustice to see anything but the best for a story such as Steins;Gate.

The plot heats up By Nicola Mansfield I'm not an anime watcher so hadn't heard of this but the premise sounded promising for me to give the manga a go and I have to say I was impressed. A realistic science-fiction tale that felt actually unique. It starts off a bit slow and jagged but things come together quickly and it then flowed nicely. The plot heats up, moving forward always, ending this volume with a tense moment. All the characters are given plenty of character development and there is an unusual selection of differing types. The text messages that alter time are cool, seeing how the small changes make an affect on the world as they know it, but I'm waiting to see if this will all come to some big crisis further down the road. Would love to read the next volume!

In addition they just jumble all the plot together and leave out so much steins;gate goodness. Would not recommend for people who haven't read the VN or seen the anime. Still wouldn't recommend it even if you have.
