Wells Collecting: Infinity Watch #11-17----- Silver Surfer/Warlock: Resurrection #1-4----- Quasar #41-43----- (selections) Marvel Comics Presents #112----- (selections) Marvel Holiday Special #2----- (selections) Marvel Swimsuit Special #2Jim Starlin's original "Infinity Trilogy" is the stuff of comic book legend. Beginning with Infinity Gauntlet Omnibus and continuing with Infinity War (to which this volume is the long-awaited companion) and concluding with Infinity Crusade, Vol. 1 and Infinity Crusade, Vol. 2, the "Infinity Trilogy" explores the cosmic edges of the Marvel Universe.Infinity War Aftermath is a largely successful companion volume to the Infinity War event. Between a massive battle between Hulk and Drax, plenty of tension between Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock, and a little comic relief from Pip the story circles the quest to resurrect Shalla-Bal (Silver Surfer's lost love) with the precarious security of the infinity gems also in question. As is the case with Starlin's other "Infinity" titles the true center is an almost philosophical quest for the Universal power, omnipotence, the infinite. Power beyond good or evil, stronger than death... it is in short a comic-form quest for and interpretation of godhood.Infinity War Aftermath was originally published in magazine form in the early 1990s. Despite the passage of time, the book reads well. Pip made this reader chuckle several times, effectively grounding a series that travels through time, space, and otherworldly dimensions rather quickly. I can recommend this book to fans of the cosmic side of Marvel's books.
