Phillies rookie pitcher Tim Charles must decide whether to honor his manager's call to retaliate against a Met's batter or ignore him and risk losing his club's respect. The next pitch he throws will shock the nation. The crackling sound the ball makes as it hits the helmet will be heard throughout the baseball and legal community. The unthinkable has occurred. Is it just a tragic part of the game? Or could it actually be criminal?Veteran prosecutor Jaime Brooks reluctantly accepts the task of investigating a case that could change the way the game of baseball is played forever. The stakes are high for Tim Charles as he faces the unimaginable consequence of his last pitch. And a national debate over the unwritten code of baseball and the accountability of players for acts on the field will erupt in a courtroom and in the offices of the baseball commissioner. What was in Charles' heart and mind when he threw the last pitch? Put yourself in the juror's seat in a case that will decide Charles' fate and possibly how baseball is played in the future.A Pitch For Justice is a former # 1 ranked novel in baseball and sports psychology on Amazon's paid store for 2014 and 2015.

A Pitch For Justice: A Legal Thriller, by Harold I Kasselman

Review Amazon's Gold Badge #1 in baseball and sports psychology in 2014 and 2015 on paid Kindle charts.  " It's technically fiction but it reads like nonfiction-an intriguing legal drama". Ellen Green author of BOOK OF JAMES." It  kept me hanging until the end. Great story and excellent job telling it." Mike Sowell, Author of THE PITCH THAT KILLED"I have read Scott Turow. I have heard him speak and we traded emails a few times. And I have read Bang the Drum Slowly. You can tell Harold Kasselman loves the law and baseball. A Pitch for Justice is a seamless integration that I could not put down. Wm. Elliot Hargrove author of "The Pitcher"    A "thought-provoking novel" and "fascinating read" - Kasselman uses his legal expertise to take the reader through the grand jury process, with prosecutor Jaime Brooks assuming the lead role. If you've ever wondered how a grand jury works, this is a good way to find out..... ROBERT D'ANGELO Tampa Tribune"A Pitch for Justice" is not the sort of book I'd normally stay up late reading, but I found its combination of baseball and a tense courtroom drama absorbing. John Pearce, Journalist and Author of The Treasure of Saint-Lazare    "This is a very realistic story written with knowledge and depth. It is filled with interesting characters and portrays the inner working of the legal system with great fascination.-- Marilou George, 5 Stars- The Kindle Book Review  "This isn't a book about the corrupt legal world, but rather a realistic story about what often transpires inside and outside the court room. Beyond that, the reader will come away from an enjoyable reading experience. -Mike Reuther, Journalist and Author of "Nothing Down"

From the Author Harold KasselmanA Pitch for Justice (Kindle Edition)I watched a Phillies and Mets game in 2010 and saw the Mets reaction to a take-out slide by Chase Utley of the Phillies towards Rueben Tejada the Mets shorstop. There had been bad blood between the two teams since 2007. I began to fear for Utley and the genesis for my novel soon followed. What would happen in today's society if a manager ordered his pitcher to intentionally try to disable an opposing batter with a pitch? What if the pitch turned into a lethal bean ball?Would the victim's family or the press demand a criminal investigation? If so, what would be the appropriate charge? If there were criminal charges, what impact would that have for the way the game of baseball is played?Would pitchers be fearful of throwing high and inside pitches? Would they fear that a prosecutor would be watching over their shoulder? Would baseball fans believe it was just part of the game or would the public see the bean ball as retaliation and no different from the motive in any criminal case? These questions are debated and vetted in my novel A Pitch for Justice which was awarded a GOLD BADGE for ranking #1 in both baseball and sports psychology in 2014 and 2015 on Kindle's paid rankings.

24 of 26 people found the following review helpful. A Pitch for Justice By Donna M. Spinosi I purchased this book the first day it was offered on Kindle and was hooked after reading the first few pages. I simply did not want to put it down. This is not just another stock courtroom novel, but rather one that causes the reader to pause and really think about the dilemma faced by the prosecutor, defense attorney and all parties involved in the case. Just when you think you know the outcome of the case, the author throws in an unexpected twist. Harold Kasselman hits a home run with this book. I highly recommend this book to everyone and hope to be able to read a sequel in the near future.

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. “It’s alive! The Butt is alive!” By Kelly Garbato (Full disclosure: I received a free e-book for review through NetGalley.)3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 where necessary. My husband introduced me to BOB'S BURGERS right before the start of Season 5, and I promptly binge-watched it on Netflix in all of a week. There’s just so much to love: The burger puns, of course. (SO MANY BURGER PUNS. I may or may not do a BOB'S BURGERS theme one of these VeganMoFos.) The butts. (SO MANY BUTTS.) In Tina, a complex, fully realized teenage girl who’s neither denigrated not mocked for her love of horses, fan fic, boy bands, and (wait for it) butts. (Think of how THE FAMILY GUY treats Meg, and then imagine the complete opposite.) The evil, scheming genius that is Louise (voiced by a wonderfully screechy Kristen Schaal). Gene and his burger suit. Linda and her penchant for wine.If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll love the comic book; if you’re not a fan, you might get a kick out of the weird humor anyway, and then go DVR BOB'S BURGERS for good measure. (Sunday nights at 7:30 Eastern, yo!) Not only are the comics considered canon, but there’s quite a bit of crossover and continuity between the two (exhibit A: Boo-Boo from Boyz 4 Now). This collection (and I hope there are more!) includes Issues 1-5, each of which has the following features:* Tina’s Erotic Friend Fiction* Burger of the Day Ideas* Louise’s Unsolved Mysteries and Curious Curiosities* Letters from Linda* Gene Belcher PresentsThe humor perfectly mirrors that of the show; it’s easy to picture any one of these stories turned into a full-length episode (or, in the case of Bob and Linda’s smaller contributions, featured as a gag). Just as with the show, I have a pretty strong preference for Tina’s Erotic Friend Fic (Battleship Galac-tina, I would watch the crap out of you), Louise’s Unsolved Mysteries (“Louise’s Legacy,” you give me feelings), and Bob’s Burger of the Day Ideas (book-inspired burgers for the win!).The collection also includes a number of issue covers and pin-up art, all of which are hella fun – colorful, visually striking, and just generally in keeping with the aesthetic of the show. All it’s missing is Gayle and a new installation of her animal butt art.

Fun and silly must have for Bobs Burgers fans By James Jessee's crazy world I haven't read comic books in many many years, but loving this show, I felt the need to reintroduce myself. This collection really captures the spirit and unique humor and style of the show, but it's easy to forget these are just quick comic stories and sometimes they seem to end quicker and more suddenly than expected. But a fun and silly collection that can help ease the addiction or withdrawal periods between binge watching every season, again.

By Wag The Fox Once upon a time I was a fan of Brendon Small’s animated series, ‘Home Movies,’ which was a love letter to just how effed up childhood could be while still finding a metric ton of joy with friends and family. H. Jon Benjamin voiced Coach McGirk on that show, and with a voice like his I've been drawn to any show in which he stars. Enter ‘Bob’s Burgers.’When the show debuted a few years back and that indelible, gruff voice rang out for Bob, I was pretty much a fan from the word go. All the better was the fact the series taps into the same vein of dry humor and absurdism that made ‘Home Movies’ so great, but this series is much more polished and a broader scope with regards to character and plot.So when I heard there was a comic book series too, my interest was piqued. The thing is that the comic book series doesn’t have a format resembling anything like the TV series. Rather than a solitary storyline followed along in traditional fashion, each issue is broken up into five sections, one for each member of the Belcher family. With that approach, each issue feels more like a collection of vignettes spotlighting each character. An interesting approach, but the payoff was lacking in parts. While Tina, the eldest daughter, steals the show in each issue through her wildly imaginative (and mildly erotic at times) fan-fic, Bob actually gets short shrift in each issue with his meager offerings appearing as custom-made burger menus. It's a nice nod to the recurring gag on the show, but it's such a let down when the title character o the series is barely an interlude in each issue. At the end of the day, the book serves better as a coffee table book than a graphic novel. The artwork holds true to the TV series, what stories are in its pages can enjoyed in no time flat, and ultimately the book feels more like a companion piece for collectors and fans of the show. If you're a die-hard fan of the show, you'll want to check it out, but if you've never seen the show before, then you're better off skipping it.

About the Author Hiro Mashima was born in Nagano, Japan on May 3, 1977. He created RAVE for Weekly Shonen magazine in 1998 when he was just 21 years old, and in 4 short years the series has already spawned 18 volumes, 3 guide books, a hit anime series, 2 console video games, merchandise, and has been licensed around the world. Mashima-san is quite fond of his hair (he cuts it himself and constantly changes its color). He hates caterpillars (don't ask why) and any that get in his path are just asking to be squashed. Oh yeah, and his blood type is B.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. This is good. It starts after vol By Nicola Mansfield This is good. It starts after vol. 50 of the main series and doesn't intrude upon that series but takes the 4 main female Fairy girls and shows us what adventures they get up to by themselves.I'm not well-versed in Fairy Tail at this point and only know two of the 4 female characters but didn't find it hard to gather what was going on and the plot was easy to figure out even though it got more complicated as it went along. Actually, a good first volume that tries to get a bit of everything in. Assuming we know who the characters are there isn't much development but they do each get a turn at showing off who and what they are, there is a lot of battling, the story is relatively complicated for a first volume and we understand relationships. This could prove to be quite successful as it is an ongoing series still current in Japan. Bad parts are the art is nothing like Hiro Mashima's and is downright not cute nor pretty like his work. Is Boku trying to make up for that with the outrageous amounts of bosoms floating around defying gravity everywhere you look? Perhaps. I'm not offended; I like boobs, but "Boob" really should be in the title to let you know how heavily they represent the main angle of the art. Perhaps "Fairy Girls' Boobs" LOL
