Uzumaki Naruto: Illustrations, by Masashi Kishimoto

About the Author Author/artist Masashi Kishimoto was born in 1974 in rural Okayama Prefecture, Japan. Like many kids, he was first inspired to become a manga artist in elementary school when he read Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama. After spending time in art college, he won the Hop Step Award for new manga artists with his story Karakuri. After considering various genres for his next project, Kishimoto decided on a story steeped in traditional Japanese culture. His first version of Naruto, drawn in 1997, was a one-shot story about fox spirits; his final version, which debuted in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1999, quickly became the most popular ninja manga in the world. The series would also spawn multiple anime series, movies, novels, video games and more. Having concluded the series in late 2014, Masashi Kishimoto has kept himself busy this year with the sidestory Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and the Scarlet Spring and writing the story for the latest Naruto movie, Boruto: Naruto the Movie both of which will focus on the title character's son, Boruto.

Not only do you get the colored arts for more of the 2nd half of the series, but also the color arts for things like the poster and arts for the movies. Additionally you are getting the images on nice high density paper which is quite sturdy but also quite perfect for the arts (much better quality than the paper they appeared on in the magazine even). Better yet it is also in large artbook sized paper even so in much better size than the manga volumes. I loved some of the comments from Kishimoto provided in the back of the book. Definitely get this before it goes out of stock! Its a worthy 20$ spent.Additionally you do get a double sided poster and stickers!

It is extremely nice to go through them from time to time. But if you expect full-on commentaries of Masashi Kishimoto you will be disappointed. Most of the book is filled with pictures, and only in the last page there are some autor's words.

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. beautiful work but it's falling apart a bit By Ocri I love Kishimoto's works and I love the series, but several of the pages have come loose and fallen out of the book. One set of pages fell out the first time I opened it, and I just shrugged it off, but now other pages or beginning to fall out.

“In the first of what I hope will be a long-running series, Angela Sanders has resurrected the art of the comic caper, and done so brilliantly. Quirky characters, lots of action, and hairpin plot turns make The Booster Club a must-read and pure gold entertainment.” ~PJ Alderman, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of Haunting Jordan, a Port Chatham Cozy Mystery When it comes to good deeds, the Booster Club proves that crime pays. Claudine is a fourth generation cat burglar preparing to heist the famous Cabrini jewels when she’s drawn into finding a home for four children whose mother died in jail. She joins forces with Ruby—an outspoken hairdresser with a sideline of shoplifting—and Deborah, who can steal the watch off your wrist, but only as her alter ego, Sabine. Together, they’re the Booster Club. The women set about buying the abandoned firehouse where the children have been living, only to discover that a ruthless developer wants the land. With the help of Claudine’s father and a retirement home for petty criminals, they must concoct a scheme clever enough to outwit the developer, the uppity Women’s League, and at least one shady politician. Who are the crooks now? The Booster Club is the first in a new series of capers by the author of the Joanna Hayworth Vintage Clothing mysteries. If you like your crime writing quirky and heartwarming, you’ll love The Booster Club.

About the Author Angela M. Sanders worked for more than a decade as a congressional investigator before turning author. Her lack of success finding bathtub reading that was suitably entertaining-yet witty and smart-led her to write the Joanna Hayworth Vintage Clothing mysteries (The Lanvin Murders, Dior or Die, and Slain in Schiaparelli). Angela's articles on Pacific Northwest history, personalities, and culture have appeared in a variety of magazines, and she's a weekly columnist for the popular perfume blog, Now Smell This.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Highly entertaining! By Amazon Customer A really fun read with an unusual set of heroines in a search for justice and an old people's home full of ex-cons using their old skills to help a family in need. Definitely a new take on an old genre. I read it on a plane ride from west coast to east coast and was so absorbed in the story that the journey seemed to take no time at all!

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. A Droll, Heartwarming Cat Burglar Caper By Cozy Cottage Sanders does it again! She managed to craft a story with interesting characters, an engaging plot and lots of twists and turns. While it's a modern story, this novel has classic caper bones, hearkening back to an earlier era, which made it a joy to read.A retirement home for aging criminals, wary, independent children and some women with specific, stubborn aspirations come together as an unlikely group working toward a common goal. I enjoyed the very good writing, and the details that fleshed the story out (about cat burglars, bird watchers and hairdressers) with a droll, deft touch that made me smile. It would be great if Sanders could write two series - the continuation of this one as well as her mysteries featuring Joanna, the owner of the Portland vintage clothing store. Also: check out her perfume reviews and on her Facebook page, her martini reviews.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Great new series! By Amazon Customer This is a new series. Sanders does a really nice job researching her books, and this was no exception. The book can certainly stand alone, but I am eager to see the characters develop as the series continues. Very enjoyable reading! Highly recommend!

By Public Name I agree with the other reviewer - Spectrum is muuuuuch better. I think it might be because of the public voting with IBA? Artists with "questionable" talent have their friends stuff the ballot boxes & we wind up with a mixed bag. There are plenty of paintings by brilliant artists but in my opinion it isn't worth having to endure the dregs.

Wells Collecting: Infinity Watch #11-17----- Silver Surfer/Warlock: Resurrection #1-4----- Quasar #41-43----- (selections) Marvel Comics Presents #112----- (selections) Marvel Holiday Special #2----- (selections) Marvel Swimsuit Special #2Jim Starlin's original "Infinity Trilogy" is the stuff of comic book legend. Beginning with Infinity Gauntlet Omnibus and continuing with Infinity War (to which this volume is the long-awaited companion) and concluding with Infinity Crusade, Vol. 1 and Infinity Crusade, Vol. 2, the "Infinity Trilogy" explores the cosmic edges of the Marvel Universe.Infinity War Aftermath is a largely successful companion volume to the Infinity War event. Between a massive battle between Hulk and Drax, plenty of tension between Silver Surfer and Adam Warlock, and a little comic relief from Pip the story circles the quest to resurrect Shalla-Bal (Silver Surfer's lost love) with the precarious security of the infinity gems also in question. As is the case with Starlin's other "Infinity" titles the true center is an almost philosophical quest for the Universal power, omnipotence, the infinite. Power beyond good or evil, stronger than death... it is in short a comic-form quest for and interpretation of godhood.Infinity War Aftermath was originally published in magazine form in the early 1990s. Despite the passage of time, the book reads well. Pip made this reader chuckle several times, effectively grounding a series that travels through time, space, and otherworldly dimensions rather quickly. I can recommend this book to fans of the cosmic side of Marvel's books.

The title of the book should tell you all you need to know to ‘know’ you’ll like this read. This story tells the tale of the ones left to clean up the mess after the party. This publication tells what might happen to the publishers and their team, if presented with this scenario. How would Iain’ publishers react? Would they follow through? Would they make contact with this mysterious person with more answers, or would they answer “DILLIGAF.” This is a good read. We got lost a time or two trying to keep track of the characters separated but, all in all a good and satisfying read. Congratulations Iain, you’ve done it again!

Highly Recommended By simon This book ties a lot of the story arcs from the previous novels into a nice fully formed extension adding to and helping close the story so far. Where next i am not sure but look forward to finding out.Overall I really enjoyed this, the story gives more insight into elements from the previous novels and I could see potential for more books with the characters introduced in this one and also how the interaction would be from both sides.A very good addition to the series - Highly recommended.

By Jyncks Having read Iains' previous books in the set, I awaited this one with baited breath. I was not disappointed, there are familiar characters with just a few new ones thrown in for good measure. The story plays out well, with a believable theme. You feel that you know the characters and even warm to them, yep....even the baddies :) The Heavy Duty books are a fine read and this just tops it off nicely, but please......don't leave us here, we want more! Highly recommended.

"You couldn't snuggle under the duvet with anything more disreputable and delightful" ―Stephen Fry

'She was a Fellow and Tutor of Scone College and the world must learn that Fellows and Tutors of Scone College shall not be done to death with impunity.'

The Hon. Charlie Mortdecai, the inspiration for the character in the film Mortdecai, starring Johnny Depp, is invited to Oxford to investigate the cruel and most definitely unusual death of a don who collided with an omnibus. Though her death appears accidental, one or two things don't add up - such as two pairs of thugs who'd been following her just before her death. With more spies than you could shoe horn into a stretch limo and the solving of the odd murder along the way, The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery is a criminally comic delight.

The Great Mortdecai Moustache Mystery: The Fourth Charlie Mortdecai Novel, by Kyril Bonfiglioli

Review “A rare mixture of wit and imaginative unpleasantness” (Julian Barnes)“Wonderfully offbeat...The often hilarious narrative voice owes something to P.G. Wodehouse (Mortdecai and his thug, Jock, are a through-the-looking-glass Wooster and Jeeves), but Bonfiglioli pays the debt by layering his homage with a loony blend of classical references, groan-worthy asides, and a playful dismantling of Golden Age detective novels.” (Booklist (starred review))“What are the books like? They are darker, stranger and more interesting than any film of them (or at least any film cleared for general release) could be…The novels are extremely funny, first of all. They deal, like Wodehouse, in sentence-by-sentence sparkle, in gestures of grand insouciance.” (Sam Leith - The Guardian)

About the Author Kyril Bonfiglioli (1928 – 1985) was an art dealer, accomplished fencer, a fair shot with most weapons, and a serial marrier of beautiful women. He claimed to be “abstemious in all things except drink, food, tobacco, and talking,” and “loved and respected by all who knew him slightly.”

His prose is smooth as silk and you don't realize you're being taken for a ride until you look back and smile. It's an easy to read book and probably would take one sitting undisturbed to take in the 174 pages. The story itself isn't a 'great' mystery but the wordsmithing is awesome. How the film is going to look on screen is going to be interesting. With Johnny Depp playing the main character should make the movie something to enjoy. If you are tempted to read it, get it now because availability will be short-lived to the average reader. The hardbacks are difficult to find and rather pricey.

5 of 7 people found the following review helpful. a dead man's shoes By F. C. Lloyd It can't be easy stepping into a dead man's shoes - and judging Craig Brown is pointless - at least we do have another CVCM novel.Sections of the book are on a par with Something Nasty (especially the interview with the Dominicans) ... others clearly aren't, including, sadly, the ending. This leads me to suggest that this is one for the fans - Bonfiglioli's past glories are enough to keep you going to the end.Perhaps it's as well Mr Brown wasn't able to tie up all the loose ends, thus leaving us with the luxury of being able to use our imaginations to decide what Bonfiglioli had planned for them and Charlie.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Charlie Mortdecai as detective, perhaps worth reading if you've already read the others in the series By Neurasthenic If the Mortdecai stories started as riffs on Jeeves and Wooster, then added in a bit of James Bond, here they mix in some Sherlock Holmes as well. Charlie Mortdecai (and his new moustache) are called upon to investigate the death of an Oxford don, with the help of a local constable inspector named Holmes. The misogyny of the previous book is kept in check here, but the book is less funny than its predecessors. The Oxford jokes will probably play well to one who has studied there but for me, much of this book fell flat.

The concept of zombies and humans coexisting is facscinating and breaks a lot of rules when it come to the sterotypical ideas we have of the walking dead. But its isn't just that, the concept is actually part of a much bigger, complex plot. I don't want to say to much as we are entering "spoiler" territory - but I can tell you that Zombie Rock 2 starts off steady and builds quickly to a climax with a couple of very sharp turns in the plot. If you like zombies with a twist, this is for you. Recommended!

The bad boys of webcomics are back with a new collection of strips and sass!Once again, creators Kris Wilson, Rob DenBleyker, and Dave McElfatrick combine some of their best strips and a host of never-before-seen comics into a new, collected book. In the best, sickest tradition, Cyanide & Happiness’ simply drawn figures and the wildly inappropriate topics they cover—including cannibalism, murder, and incest—is most reminiscent of South Park, but offers a profane sensibility all its own. Includes a foreword by comedian Bo Burnham and Poetry Corner, a collection of demented rhymes. Cyanide & Happiness is one of the longest-running, most popular, humor comic strips on the web, easily earning millions of hits per week. With its crudely drawn art and snarky humor, Cyanide & Happiness has touched many a funny bone and is accessible to a legion of fans worldwide.

If you know Cyanide & Happiness, then you know what I'm talking about. It's freaking awesome and I LOVE it. The Stab Factory didn't disappoint. The unique humour of Cyanide & Happiness isn't for everyone. If you have a huge 4x4 sticking out of your butt, then you'll want to steer clear of this riotous book...it's not for you. If when you turn around you don't knock over things, then purchase without fear and make sure to mix in a little excitement and curiosity because this is going to knock your socks off. They have other books you should check out as well. We have them all at our home. We leave them out for guests to read. I love finding out the true soul of my friends and visitors based on their reaction to these books. Some I invite back and let them continue to be my friends. Others, I just stab in the face and kick out of my house. It's pretty cut and dry here. So get this book and enjoy the crap out of life instead of worrying if what you're doing or saying is "politically correct" or if it is "hurtful" to others. This book will teach you to live life to the fullest. Haha. Love this so much!

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Great story ... a bit tricky to read on Kindle By Amazon Customer I originally bought the Alias Vol1 in paperback, and enjoyed it enough to want the next Vol2. So i decided to try it out on the Kindle app (I'm using a Galaxy Tab S), and was disappointed. The kindle forces you to read it in portrait mode (that's ok, makes sense) but locations (i.e. pages) 4, 11-13, 27, 34, 20, 48-49, 60-61, 79, and 111-115 are in landscape mode! The writing ends up tiny and you can't "zoom" in .... i had to put the screen so close to my face - my friends thought I was sniffing the the graphics! Siiiigh. Anyway, Jessica Jones is a great story, but I'll stick to the printed hardcopies forthe rest of the Volumes.Update: I went ahead and raised the rating, because after poking around (literally!) ... i found out that you can double tap the screen on the kindle app and it will zoom in to the particular graphic panel on the page ... then basically just read the whole thing panel by panel. I still wish the kindle app would just let you pinch in/out to zoom, but I'll take whatever i can get. Made a great read even better.

Still good By Cilantron 1 of 2 Collects issues 11-15Issues 11-14: Jessica investigates the case of a missing high school girl who was rumored to be a mutant. All the usual anti-mutant sentiment comes into play.Issue 15: She goes on a date with Scott Lang (Ant-Man), after telling Luke Cage she already has plans for the evening. (They're acting as bodyguards for Matt Murdock, who the tabloids claim is Daredevil.)This volume maintains the high quality of the previous volume. Fewer naughty words this time, I think. I recommend starting with that one.Note: they moved issue 10 to volume 3. This makes sense, as in issue 10 J. Jonah Jameson hires Jessica, and Jameson is also an important character in the issue 16-21 story.

0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Slightly preachy, but the dialogue and character-development pops anyway By C. D. Varn Brian Bendis's dialogue continues to really shine in this volume of Alias, although it does tip into a kind of liberal preachiness that makes the metaphor of X-man even more explicit than it already was. This does limit the effectiveness of the comic as Jones's personality in clash with small town values only really works when both sides are presented sympathetically, which Bendis tries to do except when he equates being a mutant to being gay to being Jewish. Still the cliche is slightly avoided and complicated in the end of the story when there is a different tragic turn. Yet Jessica Jones and Bendis can't quite completely eat the simplification of the politics they have presented or the caricature of rural life. However, Bendis does a lot of make what are essentially talking heads extremely interesting. For example, Jones date with Ant-man is a joy to read and is mostly semi-realistic quippy dialogue of a first date. There is a lot of character building in Bendis and he is incredibly good at it, and this will always be the primary strength of Jessica Jones.

A Pitch For Justice: A Legal Thriller, by Harold I Kasselman

Review Amazon's Gold Badge #1 in baseball and sports psychology in 2014 and 2015 on paid Kindle charts.  " It's technically fiction but it reads like nonfiction-an intriguing legal drama". Ellen Green author of BOOK OF JAMES." It  kept me hanging until the end. Great story and excellent job telling it." Mike Sowell, Author of THE PITCH THAT KILLED"I have read Scott Turow. I have heard him speak and we traded emails a few times. And I have read Bang the Drum Slowly. You can tell Harold Kasselman loves the law and baseball. A Pitch for Justice is a seamless integration that I could not put down. Wm. Elliot Hargrove author of "The Pitcher"    A "thought-provoking novel" and "fascinating read" - Kasselman uses his legal expertise to take the reader through the grand jury process, with prosecutor Jaime Brooks assuming the lead role. If you've ever wondered how a grand jury works, this is a good way to find out..... ROBERT D'ANGELO Tampa Tribune"A Pitch for Justice" is not the sort of book I'd normally stay up late reading, but I found its combination of baseball and a tense courtroom drama absorbing. John Pearce, Journalist and Author of The Treasure of Saint-Lazare    "This is a very realistic story written with knowledge and depth. It is filled with interesting characters and portrays the inner working of the legal system with great fascination.-- Marilou George, 5 Stars- The Kindle Book Review  "This isn't a book about the corrupt legal world, but rather a realistic story about what often transpires inside and outside the court room. Beyond that, the reader will come away from an enjoyable reading experience. -Mike Reuther, Journalist and Author of "Nothing Down"

From the Author Harold KasselmanA Pitch for Justice (Kindle Edition)I watched a Phillies and Mets game in 2010 and saw the Mets reaction to a take-out slide by Chase Utley of the Phillies towards Rueben Tejada the Mets shorstop. There had been bad blood between the two teams since 2007. I began to fear for Utley and the genesis for my novel soon followed. What would happen in today's society if a manager ordered his pitcher to intentionally try to disable an opposing batter with a pitch? What if the pitch turned into a lethal bean ball?Would the victim's family or the press demand a criminal investigation? If so, what would be the appropriate charge? If there were criminal charges, what impact would that have for the way the game of baseball is played?Would pitchers be fearful of throwing high and inside pitches? Would they fear that a prosecutor would be watching over their shoulder? Would baseball fans believe it was just part of the game or would the public see the bean ball as retaliation and no different from the motive in any criminal case? These questions are debated and vetted in my novel A Pitch for Justice which was awarded a GOLD BADGE for ranking #1 in both baseball and sports psychology in 2014 and 2015 on Kindle's paid rankings.

24 of 26 people found the following review helpful. A Pitch for Justice By Donna M. Spinosi I purchased this book the first day it was offered on Kindle and was hooked after reading the first few pages. I simply did not want to put it down. This is not just another stock courtroom novel, but rather one that causes the reader to pause and really think about the dilemma faced by the prosecutor, defense attorney and all parties involved in the case. Just when you think you know the outcome of the case, the author throws in an unexpected twist. Harold Kasselman hits a home run with this book. I highly recommend this book to everyone and hope to be able to read a sequel in the near future.

7 of 8 people found the following review helpful. “It’s alive! The Butt is alive!” By Kelly Garbato (Full disclosure: I received a free e-book for review through NetGalley.)3.5 stars, rounded up to 4 where necessary. My husband introduced me to BOB'S BURGERS right before the start of Season 5, and I promptly binge-watched it on Netflix in all of a week. There’s just so much to love: The burger puns, of course. (SO MANY BURGER PUNS. I may or may not do a BOB'S BURGERS theme one of these VeganMoFos.) The butts. (SO MANY BUTTS.) In Tina, a complex, fully realized teenage girl who’s neither denigrated not mocked for her love of horses, fan fic, boy bands, and (wait for it) butts. (Think of how THE FAMILY GUY treats Meg, and then imagine the complete opposite.) The evil, scheming genius that is Louise (voiced by a wonderfully screechy Kristen Schaal). Gene and his burger suit. Linda and her penchant for wine.If you’re a fan of the show, you’ll love the comic book; if you’re not a fan, you might get a kick out of the weird humor anyway, and then go DVR BOB'S BURGERS for good measure. (Sunday nights at 7:30 Eastern, yo!) Not only are the comics considered canon, but there’s quite a bit of crossover and continuity between the two (exhibit A: Boo-Boo from Boyz 4 Now). This collection (and I hope there are more!) includes Issues 1-5, each of which has the following features:* Tina’s Erotic Friend Fiction* Burger of the Day Ideas* Louise’s Unsolved Mysteries and Curious Curiosities* Letters from Linda* Gene Belcher PresentsThe humor perfectly mirrors that of the show; it’s easy to picture any one of these stories turned into a full-length episode (or, in the case of Bob and Linda’s smaller contributions, featured as a gag). Just as with the show, I have a pretty strong preference for Tina’s Erotic Friend Fic (Battleship Galac-tina, I would watch the crap out of you), Louise’s Unsolved Mysteries (“Louise’s Legacy,” you give me feelings), and Bob’s Burger of the Day Ideas (book-inspired burgers for the win!).The collection also includes a number of issue covers and pin-up art, all of which are hella fun – colorful, visually striking, and just generally in keeping with the aesthetic of the show. All it’s missing is Gayle and a new installation of her animal butt art.

Fun and silly must have for Bobs Burgers fans By James Jessee's crazy world I haven't read comic books in many many years, but loving this show, I felt the need to reintroduce myself. This collection really captures the spirit and unique humor and style of the show, but it's easy to forget these are just quick comic stories and sometimes they seem to end quicker and more suddenly than expected. But a fun and silly collection that can help ease the addiction or withdrawal periods between binge watching every season, again.

By Wag The Fox Once upon a time I was a fan of Brendon Small’s animated series, ‘Home Movies,’ which was a love letter to just how effed up childhood could be while still finding a metric ton of joy with friends and family. H. Jon Benjamin voiced Coach McGirk on that show, and with a voice like his I've been drawn to any show in which he stars. Enter ‘Bob’s Burgers.’When the show debuted a few years back and that indelible, gruff voice rang out for Bob, I was pretty much a fan from the word go. All the better was the fact the series taps into the same vein of dry humor and absurdism that made ‘Home Movies’ so great, but this series is much more polished and a broader scope with regards to character and plot.So when I heard there was a comic book series too, my interest was piqued. The thing is that the comic book series doesn’t have a format resembling anything like the TV series. Rather than a solitary storyline followed along in traditional fashion, each issue is broken up into five sections, one for each member of the Belcher family. With that approach, each issue feels more like a collection of vignettes spotlighting each character. An interesting approach, but the payoff was lacking in parts. While Tina, the eldest daughter, steals the show in each issue through her wildly imaginative (and mildly erotic at times) fan-fic, Bob actually gets short shrift in each issue with his meager offerings appearing as custom-made burger menus. It's a nice nod to the recurring gag on the show, but it's such a let down when the title character o the series is barely an interlude in each issue. At the end of the day, the book serves better as a coffee table book than a graphic novel. The artwork holds true to the TV series, what stories are in its pages can enjoyed in no time flat, and ultimately the book feels more like a companion piece for collectors and fans of the show. If you're a die-hard fan of the show, you'll want to check it out, but if you've never seen the show before, then you're better off skipping it.
