0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Dougherty returns to his roots!!! By Alden D. Much better the Dougherty's "Trick 'r Treat: Day of the Dead" anthology graphic novel. If you love Michael Dougherty's sick and twisted dark humor than you'll appreciate this book. I wouldn't spend $20 on it but for $8 it's a good deal. It's three short stories that tell of Krampus' terrorizing people that have lost hope and the holiday spirit, all wrapped up and concluded with the even shorter fourth 'story' that's really just an epilogue. And unlike "Trick 'r Treat: Day of the Dead," all of the stories in this novel actually take place in the same night and interweave in small ways ( ex: characters running into each other while their stories are occurring). That wasn't even part of the advertisement or description, not even mentioned at the beginning of the book. You pick up that information along the way which is a nice surprise because that was one of the cool things that 'Day of the Dead' was missing. It was like a nice little hat tip towards Dougherty's original story telling that garnered him the cult status of his film "Trick 'r Treat." However, if you do want to see the movie without knowing or maybe having a hint of how it will end, watch the movie before reading this book. The stories and their endings are completely different but the novel's epilogue kind of tells you how the movie will end. That still didn't ruin it for me, though.Definitely go watch the movie!!!!Movie 5/5Book 4/5

There's not much more I can say without giving this amazing book's story away! If you love the Krampus, this is a companion book, to the New Krampus movie coming out as it is from the same writer/director.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. and nice expansions of the movie By matt Whole another ten or fifteen pages would have really fleshed this out, most of these vignettes are well done, and nice expansions of the movie. The art occasionally makes it hard to tell what's going on, which is unfortunate and is a big part of why I gave this three and not four stars. The other reason it didn't make four stars is that the amount of content just feels a little skimpy. We don't really get to know the characters, or much of anything new about the krampus or his minions.Alcoholic vet mall Santa was great, though. I'd love to see him in a krampus sequel if we get one.
