Getting together for a girls weekend in Seattle, WA and playing with the idea of their own agency and made it a reality. These are their stories.P.I. I Love You (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 1) by Joanne JaytaineMURDER FOR THE LOVE OF MONEYThis story kept me captivated as the mystery and suspense of who-done-it unfolds. A two-part case for P.I. River Nightingale of the Miss Demeanor PI Agency, hired by Blake Baxter to find first who killed his parents, Wade and Trudy Baxter, and second to locate a half-sister given up for adoption. After the death, shocking secrets surface hidden away from Trudy’s children, Blake and Garnet. This story will keep you in suspense as the plot twists and turns unfold. River and Homicide Detective Gage Hamlin decide to work together rather than just against each other. In the process of working close together, feelings for each other come into play. This is an action-packed murder mystery with a touch of romance. This story has a great cast of characters, entertaining and witty dialog, along with action, suspense, solving a crime and bringing family together at last. I look forward to more stories in this Miss Demeanor series.Bare (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 2) by Angela FordTAKING CHANCESThis story kept me captivated as the mystery and suspense unfolds. This story offers so much, with a mysterious case, a group of feisty female PIs, several deaths due to drugs, estranged family members, a gentleman's club with questionable reputation, and even some romance. The plot twists kept me in constant suspense and the pages turning. So many questions to be solved, who do you trust and who are the unsavory characters. I always love seeing the good guys or gals win and the criminals getting their comeuppance. This PI story has a great cast of characters with witty dialog, some action and a little steamy romance. I am excited to see this is a series and can't wait for the next book.Choreographed Crime (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 3)BUT I DID IT FOR YOUThis story kept me captivated and the pages turning as this mystery unfolds with the death of Floriano Garcia and whether his death was suicide or murder. When the star principle male ballet dancer, Floriano, is found dead in his apartment, the police rule it suicide but his mother does not believe it. Hiring PI Maile Kuhiwinui of Miss Demeanor Agency to research the case brings many people into question, several from the Ballet Company, but also Kalama Haleamau, aka Lama, who cooks genuine Hawaiian cuisine, and a new friend of Maile. Verses from the Bible are clues in solving this case. With this case pending, can Maile and Lama have a relationship, or will new evidence hamper them? This story has a great cast of characters and the mystery is slowly revealed leaving the reader to question who and why. This is a wonderful addition to this Miss Demeanor PI series. I liked that Maile is not overconfident and is willing to as her partners for their opinions and assistance. No wonder they make a great team, as well as friends.Golden Ribbons (Miss Demeanor Series Book 4) by Lauren MaireFOUR FOR FOURThis story takes us on a nasty twist of sexual slavery using minors. Cassie Holmes takes on the case of missing minor, Cami Reynolds, hired by Cami’s mother. While question down-on-the-luck individuals under the viaduct, she meets an undercover detective, Jack Donovan. Jack has a way of forcing himself into her life, but he likes her spunk. Can these two find Cami, bust the sex-slavery houses and make a difference? The chemistry with Jack and Cassie sizzle, their dialog is witty and this story will keep you on the edge of your seat as it unfolds. The Miss Demeanor series are work well together and do not have to be read in order.

They are a little short, but they still pack a good story for you to read. It is also nice that you can read one story a night and they don’t take up a lot of time. I only wish they were a bit longer because I would have loved to read more about each of them.Each story focuses on one of the four lady PI’s. Each of them were cops before, but feeling like they are getting nowhere with their current jobs, they decide to move and start a PI firm together. They all met each other online in a lady cop chat group and have gone away on vacation together.P.I. I Love You (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 1) by Joanne JaytaineP.I. River Nightingale is the first story. She was hired to find out who killed someone’s parents because the case was closed, but the son, Blake, feels as though they have been murdered. As a PI, River has to work with the cop who closed the case, who is not happy with River poking around. But as new evidence arises, he knows that he must work with River to solve the case. But will River go too far and get injured in the process? Will the detective, Gage, be able to be there for River or will it be too late?Bare (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 2) by Angela FordThis next story is about Shay, who is hired by a mother to find and bring her daughter home. This story deals with gentleman’s club, undercover agents, and a drug ring the size of the US. It was a good story.Choreographed Crime (Miss Demeanor Suspense Series Book 3)PI Maile Kuhiwinui is hired to investigate the death of a principle ballet dancer. The dancer is found dead in his home and deemed a suicide, but his mother doesn’t believe it. She hires Maile to find out what really happened. As the story progresses, Maile finds comfort in Lama, who she met through a food truck. But as Maile finds out more information, it seems that Lama could be a suspect. Did he do it? Can their love survive?Golden Ribbons (Miss Demeanor Series Book 4) by Lauren MaireCassie Holmes is hired to look for a missing minor. This story deals with sexual slavery of minors. The missing minor’s mother hired Cassie to find her daughter. Throughout this story, Cassie meets an undercover detective to is also working on the case. They must work together to find Cami (the minor), and bust the slavery ring. As they work close together, Cassie and Jack start to become close and their chemistry is sizzling. Can they work together to solve the case or will they be too late for Cami? Can their newfound relationship survive the test?I received the book in exchange for an honest review.

I've found a new book boyfriend in Detective Gage Hamlin. Both of the characters are very good at what they do...solve murders and unravel crimes. This little book packs quite a punch...it has romance, mystery, intrigue, and did I mention romance? The chemistry and tension between Gage and River are spontaneous combustion waiting to happen. Very clean story lines and paragraph transitions and strong character development. This is proof that a book doesn't need to have sex on every page to hook a reader. The only downfall is that there wasn't enough. I can't wait for the other stories in this series. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review. I highly recommend this novella.B.A.R.E 4 starsI am an Angela Ford reader. I enjoy her take on cyber crime and the light romance she weaves into her stories. The premise of B.A.R.E. was a good one. I enjoyed learning more about one of the owners of the Misdemeanor PI firm. With that being said, I feel the story line could have been better developed. The characters for this collection were introduced very well in the first story. I was expecting that same quality of storytelling to carry through the collection. Don't get me wrong, Ms. Ford is a great storyteller. This just wasn't one of her better ones. I found places that were incongruous at times with the story line, but chalked it up to poor editing/formatting.CHOREOGRAPHED CRIME 4 starsIn the 3rd of this collection, we find the author exploring one of the other lady PI's. There is suspense, love at first sight, and a continuation of the story. While the characters are developed well, I'd have liked more from them.GOLDEN RIBBONS 3 starsThe 4th and final story in the Misdemeanor series...left me wanting more information. The sentence structure, grammar, and over all transitions tripped me up many times. The story felt rushed and I was hoping for as strong a finish as the beginning. All in all it's a good series and worth reading.
